School Building Project | CEA April 2022 Newsletter

Plans for a school building within our compound has always been part of our “Master Plan”. With the delay of face-to-face classes here in the Philippines, and talk of “blended” learning when classes do resume…it seems now is the time we need to build our school. The Department of Education will soon resume face-to-face classes, but only for a limited number of students and only a limited number of days each week. This will result in us having to continue to assist with our children’s school lessons “at home”.

We also need to meet government requirements for our facility we have yet to meet, such as a clinic and office/counseling space for our social workers.

The school building will also include a library, computer lab, and isolation rooms attached to the clinic for children sick with a contagious illness. We will also be able to use the space for worship services, bible studies, group activities such as “movie night”/birthday parties/and other children’s activities that are never ending at CEA!

Our 18’ x 36’ tent, used at the current time for all these activities, will soon be too small for us and is also very vulnerable during inclement weather.

We are seeking $160,000 for the construction of this much needed building. Please consider a donation, if you are able, toward the CEA learning center!

Construction Update

Our construction crew has made good progress on the facility enclosure wall. We are nearing the end of this project that is essential in protecting our children and property.

A number of other small projects are also underway as time and manpower are available. If we can secure adequate funding to begin the school, we hope to do that soon.

Summertime at CEA

Summer 2022 at CEAIt’s getting hot here in the Philippines with the onset of the “dry season” and that means summertime vacation for the children is near.

Our Activities Director, Gigi Brown, is already hard at work planning various activities for the children. Some will be educational; some will just be FUN!

We are also hoping to orchestrate some “field trips”, as the children have been cooped up here in CEA for a very long time due to Covid-19 restrictions.

This year we will also conduct our first VBS week! Our minister, Dennis Bello, has been working on the theme and plans for this event for a few weeks already.

Get your sunscreen and hats ready kids…IT’S ALMOST SUMMERTIME!

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
