Our Casa Esperanza of Angels Family is Growing! | June 2020 Newsletter

With some quarantine restrictions eased our licensed social worker, Jessica, has been busy finding children in need of our services and the result thus far is 5 new additions to the first children’s home!

Meet Rechelle, Cristal, Arlene Grace, Jamaica, and Marialyn!

Welcome to CEA children

Rechelle and Cristal are sisters to B-U, another CEA resident that came to us in March of this year. Arlene Grace has been living with her grandparents since age 2, but due to their age and low income they are no longer able to properly care for her. Jamaica and little sister Marialyn have also been living with their grandmother but could not be cared for properly. We are so very happy to be able to help these children to have a bright future ahead of them. So thankful to our child sponsors for their continued support for all the children of CEA’s Orphan Care Program!

CEA children and house parents June 2020

We currently need more sponsors! Please contact us if you would like to sponsor a child, but are not doing so already. The cost is only $35 a month, but for these children … it is priceless! You will be providing them with clothes, food, housing, medical/dental services as needed, and an education … secular but most importantly, biblical. You will receive quarterly updates on your child.

Please contact us to begin sponsoring a child!

Construction Update

The ceiling for the 2nd house in coordination with Save Asian Souls under our Human Trafficking Prevention Program has been completed. The porch/steps have been built as well as the required handicap ramp. The porch railings are also nearing completion.

We will soon be starting on the tile work and painting preparation for the home. The home will house a maximum of 24 girls vulnerable to human trafficking.

Work also continues on our permanent vegetable garden area. Along with the vegetable gardens we plan to have chickens producing eggs and fish farming ponds in the future. Producing as much of our own food is a way to reduce our expenses and a learning opportunity for the children in our care.

Our aerobic composting efforts are also underway, albeit not in their permanent location that has yet to be constructed. Our household biodegradable trash, leaves, grass cuttings, and other landscaping waste is being turned into fertile compost to further our food production efforts.

Isolation & Education

We are still under “general community quarantine” here in Negros Oriental, Philippines due to Covid-19. As a result, the President of the Philippines has said school will not resume until a vaccine is available as the risk to the children is too great. This means we must continue indefinitely with our isolation and education!

This is an increased work load and burden on our staff while also maintaining their other areas of responsibility. Regardless, we are using this time as an opportunity to educate the children in various studies while also keeping them occupied!

Titus 2:13-14 (NKJV)

13Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
