Challenging World

Kids playing with cell phoneThe world today is ever challenging. As guardians and surrogate parents for the children of CEA in our care, we are constantly battling the unsavory influences of the world on our children. As we all know, children’s minds are easily distracted and influenced by many things in the world. The cell phone alone holds many distractions that are not beneficial for young people and that is why we do not provide our children with this device and yet when at school they constantly seek out others who will let them use their phone regardless of our rules against this.

Being isolated from family also brings great challenges to our work. While being accepted into the facility is not a “life sentence” it is very difficult at times to get our children to focus on the goal of finishing their schooling, developing a relationship with God, and learning how to be upstanding/responsible citizens of society rather than wishing they could go back home if only for a few nights. Their families are allowed to visit them but many of them cannot visit frequently because of financial restraints.

We are struggling with some of our older children who are distracted by all that glitters and shines and are willing to sacrifice the opportunity we offer them for some brief simple pleasures in life.

Please pray for the children of CEA. Please pray for our staff as we do our best to keep our children focused and on the right path in life.

Construction Update

CEA Learning Center - August 2023

Roof construction for the “CEA Learning Center” is well underway. The round columns to help support the roof structure have been poured, the septic tank area is being excavated (as weather permits), and “rough in” plumbing is going in.
