Construction Update

We are making steady progress on our next major project: the Older Boys Residence. With the foundations completed, we have now poured the slab and installed the rough-in plumbing.

This building will accommodate boys from early teens to college age. There will also be private single-occupant rooms designated for responsible older boys, providing them with a step toward independent living.

Government Assessments – Never-ending Scrutiny

Towards the end of 2025, we renewed our registration and licensing with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and prepared for an Accreditation Assessment by the DSWD and the National Child Care Authority. These assessments aim to ensure child safety and proper care, but they often include excessive and redundant requirements. Despite this, we strive to comply and meet their standards as best we can.

DSWD Assessment - CEA May 2026

We passed the National Child Care Authority assessment but have yet to get the results of the DSWD assessment. We are now preparing for an additional monitoring visit from the DSWD, part of their biannual review. Most of the assessment and monitoring processes focus heavily on paperwork rather than reflecting the actual quality of care we provide and the challenges we face.

Matthew 7:13-14

13“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
