We Arrived and are on the Move! | March 2019 Newsletter

Gigi and I have been on the road and visiting various congregations and donors since our arrival in the U.S. on Feb. 26.

We have given presentations and visited with donors in middle & southern Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. We will continue our travels on through Tennessee with stops in Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio.

Books Shipped!

Ron and Gigi packing booksWhen Gigi and I first arrived we got busy and one of our first tasks was re-packing and shipping over 500 children’s books donated by the Whitwell High School Interact Club. We were highly impressed and excited to see such a wide variety and exceptional quality of the books. We hope the shipment will arrive in perfect timing for the opening of the orphanage!

As many of you may be aware of, we’re developing a Child Education and Youth Ministry program as a core component of our mission. Long term plans include a primary school on site and these books will definitely become a part of the library we’re building for the orphanage and the school.

Thank you so much to the students of Whitwell High School Interact Club for participating in our Book Donation program and special thanks also to everyone who helped facilitate this donation.

Ongoing Construction in Our Absence

While we are away from the Philippines we have a few of our construction workers still working on construction of the exterior enclosure wall. They are also overseeing the property and taking care of the fruit trees and other plants. As you know, we have allocated a significant tract of land within our mission site to cultivate vegetables, trees, and other food crops as part of our Sustainability Program.

Revamped Website and video segments!

At your earliest opportunity be sure to check out our revamped website! We’re continuously working to improve our communications channels to our donors and supporters and we’d love to hear your feedback on the website changes. Please feel free to leave a comment below for any questions or concerns about the website. Thank you!

The newly revised website reveals the broad spectrum of the work we have in our plans. The three core parts of our mission are fully explained in these pages on the website: church of Christ establishment program, Orphan Care program, and Community Outreach program.

We will be also adding video segments to better explain our mission as well as feature segments from other individuals sharing their thoughts about Philippine Mission/Casa Esperanza of Angels. The first video segment, featuring an interview with our friend Larry Judd from the Ooltewah church of Christ congregation, has been posted and we encourage you to view it at your convenience.

Hebrews 12:1-21

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
