Welcome Lara and More Children! | CEA November 2022 Newsletter

The newest addition to our CEA staff is Lara Michaela Rabaya, our newly hired licensed social worker. Along with our other licensed social worker, Darlene Sumampong, we are now legally compliant once again with two social workers.

We also are adding more children to our CEA family. Please consider sponsoring a child/children if you are not already. It is a small price to pay to change the life of a child! For only $35 a month you can make a difference for a child that otherwise would have little hope in life.

Construction Update

Progress continues on our CEA Learning Center construction project, but a recent storm and frequent rain has slowed our progress some. We are still putting in the footings for the required 46 columns!

It is a large building and greatly needed for our continued progress.

We still need substantial funding to complete this building. It is essential for our compliance with the licensing agency to continue to comply with their requirements of which this building will help address. We are currently in the process of applying for accreditation.

Full Time Classes

The schools have resumed a full week class schedule as of Nov. 1. Except for our youngest children still in kindergarten, all our other children are in school for full days Monday thru Friday.

Most of them are doing well. A few are still behind for their grade level, but we are still tutoring them in the evenings and on the weekends.

The children will enjoy a two-week Christmas break in December.

Thanksgiving & Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving 2022The traditional “Thanksgiving” is not celebrated here in the Philippines, but we wish all our donors/supporters a “Happy Thanksgiving” and we are so very thankful for your support of Philippine Mission/Casa Esperanza of Angels Foundation!

As mentioned in our last newsletter, we are already purchasing gifts for the children for Christmas. We like to get this done ahead of time as much as possible to beat the crowds and chaos near the actual day.

If you are able, we are requesting an additional small amount ($5-$15) per child to cover the cost of their gifts and our Christmas Party. For us it is a time of sharing, being thankful for our blessings, showing love, and bonding as a family.

Psalm 100:3-5

3Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
