Arrived in the USA | CEA February 2026 Newsletter

Gigi and Ron arrived in the USA on Tuesday, February 3, and are now settling in as preparations move forward for Ron’s upcoming medical procedures. This season is an important time for them to focus on health, rest, and reconnecting with loved ones, and they are grateful for everyone who has been praying and checking in.

In between medical appointments, they are also beginning to map out the next steps for strengthening support for Casa Esperanza of Angels. Once Ron has fully recovered, they hope to visit relatives they don’t see often, as well as reach out to churches and mission-minded communities who may be open to hearing about the work being done for the children at CEA. These visits are not only opportunities to share updates but also to build new partnerships, encourage long-term supporters, and invite others to join the mission.

They are likewise using this time to plan for the children’s upcoming summer activities. This includes identifying materials, educational supplies, and recreational items that will enrich the children’s learning and create memorable experiences during the break. Early planning ensures that everything—from crafts and games to spiritual formation activities—is ready well ahead of time.

Through all of this, Gigi and Ron remain deeply committed to the mission of CEA. Their time in the USA is both purposeful and hopeful, and they look forward to returning with renewed strength, new connections, and the resources needed to continue serving the children with excellence.

Construction Update

Our new building, designated for staff and visitor housing, has successfully passed all necessary inspections, and we now have our certificate of occupancy. After adding a few finishing touches, all six units will be ready for use. Currently, two of these units are already occupied.

Groundbreaking has officially commenced on our next major project: the construction of the Older Boys’ Residence building. This initiative represents an exciting new chapter in our commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young people. The existing boys’ home, which has served as a safe haven for younger boys, will continue to operate in its current capacity, ensuring that these younger residents still have a stable and caring place to grow and thrive.

Upon completion of the new residence, we will transition older boys into the facility, allowing for a tailored living experience that meets their specific developmental and social needs. This new building is designed with their unique requirements in mind, featuring modern amenities, communal spaces for socialization, and areas for education and personal growth.

We believe this upgrade will foster independence, responsibility, and community among the older residents, preparing them for their futures. The project reflects our ongoing dedication to improving the lives of all the boys in our care, creating an environment where they can learn, play, and become the best versions of themselves. We look forward to seeing the impact of this new residence on our community and its young men.

End of School Year/Summer

CEA Summer 2026The end of the 2025–2026 school year is approaching quickly, with a tentative closing date set for March 31. This is an exciting and meaningful milestone for several of our children. Two will be completing their elementary education and preparing for the transition to high school—a big step that brings new opportunities, challenges, and growth. Another child will be graduating from high school and moving on to college next school year, a moment that fills all of us with pride and gratitude as we witness the long-term impact of stability, support, and encouragement in their lives.

As the school year winds down, preparations will soon begin for the wide range of activities and events we traditionally offer during the summer break. These include educational enrichment, recreational outings, spiritual development activities, and plenty of opportunities for the children to explore new interests and build lasting memories. Early planning helps ensure that everything runs smoothly and that each child has a meaningful and enjoyable summer experience.

We are also excited to once again welcome a group from Creekside Church of Christ, who will be joining us in late May to conduct our Vacation Bible School. Their annual visit has become a cherished part of our summer, bringing energy, creativity, and heartfelt service to the children. The theme for VBS 2026, along with additional details, will be shared as the date approaches, but preparations are already underway to make this year’s program uplifting and memorable for everyone involved.

The months ahead promise to be full of celebration, planning, and joyful anticipation as we support our children through these important transitions and look forward to another meaningful summer at CEA.

1 Corinthians 15: 56-58

56The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
