First church of Christ Worship Service At CEA | March 2020 Newsletter

Our temporary church meeting tent is complete and functional. We had our first official worship service on March 15 with Ron Brown preaching the lesson. We had 19 in attendance. This is in line with our core mission of building a thriving church of Christ congregation in Tanjay City.

We are actively searching for a full time minister to head up our spiritual growth at Casa Esperanza of Angels as well as reach out and evangelize the community here around us. We are still seeking monthly commitments to fund the salary/housing needs for the prospective minister.

Special Guests At Casa Eperanza of Angels!

We are blessed to have a visit from our parents, Ron & Pat Brown. They stopped by the Philippines on their way back to the US after traveling in SE Asia the last 5 months. However, due to the coronavirus they are currently trapped here in the Philippines due to travel bans/lockdowns.

Ron Brown and Pat Brown CEA
Our parents Ron Brown and Pat Brown will be staying with us indefinitely here at CEA until the travel ban and lockdown will be lifted.

During their visit they have inspected the second home here being built in coordination with Save Asian Souls for girls vulnerable to human trafficking (please see below for an update on this construction project). They are also spending time with our house parents helping them with parenting wisdom and encouragement.

The 15th was their 62nd wedding anniversary so the entire staff and children of Casa Esperanza of Angels enjoyed a special lunch out with them to celebrate!

We have also finished leveling the playground area in anticipation of some play equipment for the CEA orphanage children.

Donations are requested for construction of a court that will be for basketball, volleyball, and badminton.

We also would like to add other play equipment for the children such as swings and slides. If you are able to help we would truly appreciate your assistance!

New Children at CEA & Prayers

We hope to be adding new children soon. We have heard of a few children in need but are still working on the necessary documentation to bring them into our care.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those throughout the world dealing with the coronavirus. With those ill, or those treating them… and the effects it is having globally. We are blessed to have faith and know that God is in control!

Romans 8:24-26 (NKJV)

24For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

26Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
