Forging Ahead! Construction Progress & Other Updates – July 2018 Newsletter

Construction Update

With the tile work completed in the first children’s home, we will soon begin the installation of the plumbing fixtures (toilets, sinks, showers, and faucets), as well as the light fixtures.

We have gotten our complete electrical distribution plans from the electrical engineer and will be working with the local electric supply company to install our permanent electrical service line soon.

Perseverance!

My father has been known to say about the mission work he does……”the difficult we do every day….the impossible just takes a little longer”. We too follow this mindset!
Recently we have had some setbacks in our progress. We have had difficulties finding workers to do the tasks at hand….or simply not skilled enough for the task. We also have had problems with our vehicle that resulted in us not having our own transportation for over a week while in the shop. After an issue with our property caretaker, we were forced to let him go as well. Life gives us lots of problems…..often on a daily basis! How we deal with those problems is what can make us stronger! Faith that God knows our struggles and is in control is a strength to us. Perseverance is also key to forging ahead when the storm clouds of life bring dreary days!

Can You Help?

We are nearing the completion of the first of 4 proposed children’s houses! While this will give us a “house”…..it will not give us a “home”! We still need to furnish and supply this house with all those things that will make it a home for the needy children that will live here. Below is a partial list of items we will need and estimated costs. Please consider a donation, if you are able, to help us purchase these items.
Bunk beds for the children (8)………………………………………………………..……$2,000
Beds for house parents/assistant (2)…………………….……………….………………. $450
Linens/pillows/towels (18 beds/19 people)…………….…………..………………….. $650
Curtains/other “homey” touches…………………………………………………………….$300
Living/dining room furniture………………………………………………………………$2,000
Pots/pans/kitchen utensils………………………………………………….……..…….…….$250
Cleaning supplies/hygiene products/first aid kit
fire extinguishers/smoke detectors………………………………….…….………$500

Community Outreach

Initial plans for an outreach to the impoverished community just across the road from the orphanage property are in the works for late Jan. 2019. More details to come soon and an opportunity for you to assist us in this outreach will be extended to anyone interested in helping.

We are forever grateful for your generous donations and support of our mission! We couldn’t do it without YOU! Together WE CAN GIVE HOPE!

Our Sincere thanks and God’s Blessings to you all,

Ronald and Georgia Brown
