Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from CEA! | December 2021 Newsletter

Merry Christmas to everyone from all of us at Casa Esperanza of Angels! Our children are excited for our Christmas activities and their gifts. The children will enjoy a Christmas break from their school studies from Dec. 20 – Jan. 2.

CEA Boys from house 1

We are diligent to teach the children about the history of Christmas and celebration as a “holiday” not as a “holy day”. We take this time to bond with each other, enjoy both the giving and receiving of gifts, and being thankful of God’s love for each one of us every day.

Thank you to all our donors that dug a little deeper so these children will have a wonderful Christmas! Watch for photos of our Christmas activities/celebrations on either our Facebook page: Casa Esperanza of Angels/Philippine Mission or our website: www.casaesperanzaofangels.com.

Best wishes to you and your family at Christmas and in the New Year!

Year End Report

Casa Esperanza of Angels continues to grow and make good progress. Ending 2021 we now have 9 boys and 17 girls in our care. Of these 6 were baptized into Christ in 2021.

We now have 10 full time staff and 7 volunteers that keep CEA functioning on a daily basis.

We hired Dennis Bello as our minister in July of 2021 and he has been integral in teaching the children of CEA the bible, in singing practice, and leading our worship services. He is actively seeking out those in the community willing to study the bible and currently has several ongoing weekly bible studies.

The “family cottage” was built this year and our garage/shop/storage facility was also initiated. We continued throughout the year with our sustainability program as well as improvements in our landscaping efforts for the property. Visitors never fail to be impressed with our facility.

Seeing the children of CEA thrive and develop mentally, physically, and most importantly spiritually… is our proudest accomplishment of 2021.

Thank you for being a part of our Philippine Mission team to care for children in need and seek and save the lost in this part of the world. Your interest and participation is priceless!

We look forward to more great things for CEA/Philippine Mission in 2022!

Construction Update

Family guest cottage Dec 2021

Georgia and I have finally moved into the “family cottage”, although construction continues on the exterior of the structure. We have set up our first real administration office, after all these years, and are settling into life in the cottage.

The laundry house, where we lived for two years, can now be used for its intended purpose complete with washer and dryer. We have also allocated part of the laundry house for our social workers to set up an office area.

These project completions, of which we are very thankful for and could not do without our generous donors, make the functioning of CEA easier and more efficient.

It’s Not Too Late!

It may be the end of the year, but it is not too late to make a donation to Philippine Mission… and it just might be a “win-win” for us both!

Your donation can help us in the care of our CEA children, help us continue to progress in our “master plan” for our facility, and most importantly help us continue to seek and save the lost in this part of the world.

Since we are a 501c3 organization your donation can be very helpful for you personally as a tax write off. All cash donations to a 501c3 organization are tax-deductible when the donor does not receive anything in return. Charitable donations are deducted when the taxpayer chooses to itemize rather than take the standard deduction.

For 2020 and 2021 the IRS is allowing a special $300 deduction designed especially for those who choose to take the standard deduction, rather than itemizing. Since the vast majority of people are not able to itemize this is a nice little tax break.

The standard deduction for 2021 is $25,100 so in order to itemize, your itemized deductions need to exceed $25,100.

If you are thinking of a year-end donation, you can be assured your donation to Philippine Mission will be a wise choice for multiple reasons!
