CEA Community Outreach Project In Sitio Baybay

FINAL UPDATE 02/15/2017: Sitio Baybay event a resounding success. Read the FULL REPORT here.

Dear friends, donors, and supporters of Casa Esperanza of Angels Philippine Mission,

In our last email to you, we mentioned about a community outreach project scheduled in January 2017. We’ve finalized the arrangements for this project and we now have the details for those interested to help us out with this initiative.

Find out more about our community project at Sitio Baybay, Tanjay City

This project is happening on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at a fishing village called Sitio Baybay, Barangay San Isidro in Tanjay City, Philippines. As you know, Tanjay is where we are currently building our orphanage facility.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]

Horrendous Poverty

The village is located near the mouth of Tanjay River, as you can see from the photos and videos on our project page. There are about 45 children in this village belonging to 19 households/families. The people here subsist mostly on their meager income from small scale fishing, nipa leaves selling (used for thatching), and odd farming jobs.

The poverty in this place is simply horrendous. We saw a lot of malnourished children going around barefoot. The tiny houses made of flimsy materials are quite vulnerable to tropical storms, it’s amazing how entire families could fit into those cramped spaces. Sanitation is an unheard of luxury here apparently, we have not seen a single house with a working toilet.

For someone coming from the U.S. or any first world country, this place is a real shocker. You see how people here live in extreme want and poverty and you realize just how well off we’ve really lived.

Part of our mission at Casa Esperanza of Angels Foundation aside from caring for orphans, is to help needy children – those suffering from extreme hunger and poverty. In this project, we’re totally focused in bringing a little help to these impoverished children and their families.

We’re also doing this to introduce ourselves to the community and create goodwill while we work on completing the construction of our orphan care facility.

On January 28, 2017, that’s a Saturday, we plan on bringing food and grocery parcels for the children and their families, as well as small gifts for the kids. This is our way of giving back, of helping them, and letting them know that someone still cares about them.

Forty-five children from 19 families will benefit from this activity.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]

Let’s Make This Happen

We are inviting you to help us make this happen with a donation of $25. If 30 people reading this email would each donate $25, we can easily cover the projected budget for this activity, which is about $700.

$25 is a small amount to you and me but to these people, the food and groceries that it will buy them can really make a difference between going hungry and having just a little to be happy about for an entire month! It’s absolutely amazing how such a small amount can impact someone’s life.
If you are able to donate, please send a check to:

If you’re unable to share any amount for this project at this time but are still willing to help us with your time, you can do so by sharing our project page to friends and family on Facebook and asking them to help us out on this project. A word-of-mouth referral from you would be invaluable and much appreciated.

As always, we are very thankful for your continued support and prayers for our endeavors here in the Philippines. We pray that someday, when the facility is open, we can invite you to come here and share in the joy and wonderful experience of helping orphans and the less fortunate in this part of the world.

Love and blessings,

Ron and Gigi Brown
